Transolutions requires two years or more experience transcribing for the Medical Records department in an acute care hospital setting. Transcribing in-patient reports should give you exposure to a variety of dictators as well as all different specialties typing reports such as history & physicals, operative reports, consultations and discharge summaries because at Transolutions you will be required to type all of those reports. Clinic experience does not qualify you. Your medical transcription experience should have been within the last 5 years. Working for a hospital in other healthcare positions such as administrative assistants, medical secretary, R.N., M.D., etc., does not count towards the two-year transcription work requirement. Other transcription work, i.e. insurance or legal transcription, court reporting, etc. may provide exposure to medial terminology, however, it does not count toward the minimum two-year requirement. Class work in medical transcription does not count towards the two-year requirement.
